Jon Jolley

Coach Jolley is in his 18th year with the
YSST program. He began swimming competitively in 1973.
He began coaching in 1987 with the Greenville Swim Club while
attending East Carolina University. Jon joined the YSST
staff in the fall of 1992 as Head Age Group Coach. Since
becoming the Head Coach in June 1996, Jon has coached
numerous YMCA National Qualifiers as well as 12 YMCA
"All-American" performers, 8 Junior National
Qualifiers, 2 Senior National Qualifiers, 2 North
Carolina Swimming Age Group record holders, and a YMCA National Age
Group record holder. He has also been a member of the North
Carolina Swimming Select Team Staff. Jon is currently
the age group vice chair of North Carolina Swimming, a member of
the North Carolina Swimming Board of Directors, the president of
the Greater YMCA Sunbelt Swimming Association, and is a member of
the YMCA of the USA Upper Southeast Regional Swimming
Committee. Jon graduated with degrees in both Vocal
Performance and Vocal Pedagogy from ECU.
Rachael LeClair

Coach LeClair joined the YSST coaching staff
in January 2009. Rachael swam competitively for 12 years with
the Mid-Ohio Valley Swim Association, Parkway Swim Club, Tulane
University and Emory University. She was a Senior National
qualifier, a 21 time NCAA All-American, 2 time NCAA Division III
individual champion, former Division III record holder, and was
Georgia Hall of Fame Amateur Athlete of the Year. When she is
not at the pool, Rachael practices family law and criminal defense
law. She and her husband Tommy Shores have two daughters,
Maly and Audrey, who swim for YSST, and a son, Peter, who will be a
swimmer soon.

Jennifer Johnson
Assistant Coach

Coach Johnson joined the YSST coaching staff in the fall of
2009. Jennifer grew up swimming for Valdese Aquatic Club
under Steve Morrow. She also swam for South Caldwell High
School. Jennifer attends CVCC pursuing a degree in
Dental Hygeine. She assists with all groups on the team.
Glenn Peterson

Coach Peterson rejoined the YSST coaching
staff in January 2009. Glenn swam at the University of
North Carolina at Wilmington. Peterson began a long and
storied coaching career in 1984. He has coached various clubs
in Florida, North Carolina, and Oklahoma. Glenn was the
head coach of YSST from 1989-1994. Peterson has coached
2 World ranked swimmers, an Olympic Trial qualifier, as well
as numerous Senior and Junior National qualifiers. He left
the coaching field in 1997 for the corporate world. Glenn
works for Draka in Hickory where he resides with his wife Lee.
Chris Wells

Coach Wells joined the YSST coaching staff in August 2010.
Chris swam at East Burke High for 4 years. He began swimming
competitively when he was eleven. Chris swam for Steve Morrow
at the Valdese Aquatic Club. He has recently completed school
to become a police officer. Chris also works in the aquatics
department at the Y as a lifeguard and swim lesson
instructor. His primary work will be with Silver group.
